Raikkonen: Comeback easier for me than Schumacher

Kimi Raikkonen has said that his comeback has been easier than Michael Schumacher's turbulent 2010 return, but only because his Lotus is more competitive. "It's just about whether you have a good car or not. It has made life much easier for me. He was not so lucky." He also commented: "Maybe people see me as more relaxed, which I think is down to the team".

Wow, I hadn't noticed how spectacular his comeback had been compared to mine. Let's take a look: Michael Schumacher's first race in 2010 - qualified 7th, finished 6th. Kimi Raikkonen's first race in 2012 - qualified 18th, finished 7th. Maybe I'm missing something?

Take it easy Raikkonen, it was an innocent enough question. Maybe we should look at this in the context of what we'd been up to during our years off. I stayed involved in F1 as racing advisor for Ferrari, while I believe you spent your time verifying the classic motorsport anorak's argument that F1 drivers would be terrible at rally driving.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
That's a bit saucy there Raikkonen, with outbursts like that you'll have a hard time convincing anyone you're "more relaxed" this year.
IceMan   Kimi Raikonnen
I was having a shit.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
That's one way of relieving the pressure I suppose.
fernando   Fernando Alonso
With all this talk about legendary comebacks, does anyone get the feeling we're forgetting someone?
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
Indeed, I believe a certain Romain Grosjean actually departed F1 in the same year as Raikkonen, and coincidentally returned not only at the same time, but with the same team. How's he getting on I wonder?
fernando   Fernando Alonso
Two retirements so far, and last in the championship I believe.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
Oh yes, I seem to recall he even had the nerve to blame me for the 2nd one - our little collision must have somehow sucked out his ability to drive on a damp track. Anyway it can't be too hard for Raikkonen to stand out with a team-mate like that.
nico   Nico Rosberg
Well Michael, due to your remarkable record in F1, I recall similar things being said about my prospects with the Mercedes team leading up to 2010, and judging by Romain's qualifying performance so far he may soon get some redemption like I did.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
Clam it Britney, the only reason you're rated higher than Grosjean is because "Michael Schumacher's teammate" has a better ring to it than "Kimi Raikkonen's teammate".
rubens   Rubens Barrichello
You're such a loser Michael, just admit your comeback was a big failure and stop trying to deflect attention from it.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
My biggest regret about my comeback year is that I didn't follow through and deflect you off the Hungarian pit wall. Anyway, despite your continuously monotonous presence in F1 while I was on sabbatical, you still managed to finish behind me in the standings that year Barrichello.
rubens   Rubens Barrichello
That's so unfair Michael, I was growing into my new role at Williams, motivating all the guys and building up the whole team from scratch.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
I'm sure you motivated a few of them to call the samaritans. But in fairness, I guess it was a big change for you to move to a team where you hadn't been beaten to a world championship by your team-mate.
rubens   Rubens Barrichello
It's so unfair, all I needed was a proper chance with Brawn, Jenson was so lucky he got his contract before me.
bestofbritish   Jenson Button
Ooh Rubinho, you can come and have another stab at this brawn any time you like. I'm always willing to take a good beating, but I can't promise you that I won't come first.
