Di Resta vindicates unusual Force India strategy

Paul Di Resta believes that the team's decision to sit out Q3, in addition to an unusual two-stop race strategy enabled him to claim his best career finish in the Bahrain GP. The Scot, who also briefly led the race, remarked, "It was an amazing job by the whole team in the combination of pitstops and strategy. At one point they said 'another 10 laps on these tyres', and I thought they were asking too much, but no."

mschumi   Michael Schumacher
Given all the sessions you skipped this weekend I'm surprised you bothered to finish the race di Resta.
diResta   Paul di Resta
Given the trauma endured by some of our team members, I am just delighted for the team that I was the hero of a dark hour and was able to produce a stunning drive of composure and maturity to register our best finish of the year. In fact it feels like a win given the equipment at my disposal.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
Spoken like a man who hasn't a clue what an F1 victory feels like.
diResta   Paul di Resta
The first of my many victories will materialise once my status as the hottest property in the pitlane is rewarded with a top drive. Until then I will just have to continue exhibiting all the traits that will in the future bring me multiple titles.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
I believe if you continue showing these traits it will at least lead to multiple fractures. Keep making outlandish promises, you'll never disappoint anyone that way.
diResta   Paul di Resta
Actually Michael, if anything my career to date has been a tale of over-promising and then over-delivering, which is quite extraordinary. Motorsport historians will record the 2012 Bahrain GP as being particularly significant given it was the first of the many occasions that Paul di Resta led a GP.
fernando   Fernando Alonso
I've got a feeling it might be remembered for something other than that you prat. Let's just hope Bernie has learned something from the whole PR disaster.
Bernie   Bernie Ecclestone
What disaster was that Fernando? No such thing as bad publicity is there, anything that gets us on the news a bit more, the racing is hardly going to do it. The crown prince gave us the nod so it was all kosher. As far as I'm concerned we will be going back to Bahrain for GPs forever.
fernando   Fernando Alonso
Great being on the news Bernie, the only problem being the accompanying pictures of riot police, tear gas, and rubber bullets. Here's a few ideas for next year, how about a few street races in Homs, Kabul, and Baghdad?
Bernie   Bernie Ecclestone
It was a bit of a storm in a teacup really wasn't it Fernando, handbag stuff, I'm sure they'll sort out their little squabble by the time we're back next year. As for those new street races, as long as those governments are happy I'm all for it, provided they can pay me the race fee that is.
ForceVJ   Vijay Mallya
Given the trauma my staff endured at this GP we would have to carefully consider any moves to unstable locations for future races.
fernando   Fernando Alonso
Careful there Mallya, unless you want your cars to completely disappear from the TV coverage?
Bernie   Bernie Ecclestone
Nobody gives a toss about who is coming 8th or whatever Fernando, if they had introduced my gold medal system we'd be better off. Anyway Force India had a bloody drinks logo on the car so that is why they weren't shown, common sense to take that off I'd say, like McLaren did.
rondennis   Ron Dennis
Who took the Johnny Walker branding off the cars? Christ, if that jeopardises my free personal supply I'm going to nut someone.
nico   Nico Rosberg
Speaking of vindications I am glad the stewards saw no reason to punish me for my perfectly reasonable defensive driving on Sunday.
fernando   Fernando Alonso
A former touring car twat was the driver steward which says it all. I'm glad you think you got away with it Rosberg, I'll be administering some natural justice very soon.
hammy   Lewis Hamilton
That's a total frickin' trip Nando, I almost got taken out by a Mercedes in the race too, it was way uncool what Michael did.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
Well Lewis, you did finish the race didn't you?
hammy   Lewis Hamilton
Yeah Michael.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
Clearly wasn't me then. That's two in one race Britney, and you got off scot-free. You finally learned something from me. Just remember, you'll need 90 more victories and almost as many counts of dangerous driving before I'm impressed.
