Webber concerned at number of GP winners

Mark Webber has voiced his concern that with five different winners in the first five races of the season, Formula One may be in danger of alienating its fans. In spite of the prevailing opinion that this is most exciting start to a season in decades, Webber sees things differently: "I don't know if they will get sick of seeing so many different winners. It's nice to have different winners but also we want rivals."

fernando   Fernando Alonso
Did you fall off your bike again and hit your head Webber?
wibbah   Mark Webber
Call me a galah if you want Fernando but I reckon we might confuse the fans with a different winner every week instead of a fair dinkum rivalry.
fernando   Fernando Alonso
Please explain how more competitive cars and more drivers capable of winning equates to less rivalry? I suppose you're worried it might be perceived that every Tom, Dick and Harry can win now, except you of course.
sbstnvtl   Sebastian Vettel
Yes, that's what I am talking about! Nah, nah, nah nah nah! I won a race and Mark didn't. Yabba-dabba-dooooooooo!
fernando   Fernando Alonso
Webber might be a bit tapped but Christ are you annoying Vettel.
Horner   Christian Horner
Mark does in fact reflect Red Bull's position on this for once. As a team we are completely perplexed by the current anomalous situation where other teams are winning races. Adrian and I have discussed it and we believe the fans would much prefer a season like 2011 where perfect Seb was completely dominant.
wibbah   Mark Webber
Er crikey, 2011 wasn't exactly what I had in mind Christian, I got absolutely cream crackered that year. I was thinking more like 2010 where me, Seb, and Fernando had a great rivalry.
Horner   Christian Horner
2010 was indeed a bitter lesson for RBR. The fact that the second car was also competitive effectively took points away from Seb and almost handed the title to a rival team. Having established a lead and support car formula in 2011, we are confident that this will work again once perfect Seb starts winning every race and ends all this confusion for the fans.
fernando   Fernando Alonso
You lot are almost as far out of touch with the fanbase of F1 as Bernie is.
Bernie   Bernie Ecclestone
They're right Fernando, don't overestimate Joe Soap. We have lots of different winners alright but they're all bloody blokes aren't they, not exactly going to draw the punters in. I was thinking of having theme weekends. I'll get you lot to qualify the cars and then ship a few birds in to drive on Sunday. Maybe have a load of beach-volleyball players race one weekend, hire a few tasty young models the next, like Cindy Crawford. Lovely jubbly.
fernando   Fernando Alonso
Jesus, get with it Bernie, Cindy Crawford is older than Michael. Anyway if it's "theme" weekends you're after, why don't you go ask Max about it, he knows all about those.
MaxiMos   Max Mosley
Who told you that? Mature consenting adults who have agreed equitable terms of remuneration, and who have collaborated on the choreography of a themed evening should be entitled to the utmost privacy in the rented secret underground cellar of their choice.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
Ah, it's not like the good old days when Schumi was winning so much the journalists could write their race reports on Saturday evening. The FIA even had to change the points system so all the other wasters had a chance.
nico   Nico Rosberg
I remember your period of dominance Michael and I aspire to achieve the same. The great thing about all these different winners is that I finally broke my duck, although I know it must have been a difficult day for you when I was the hero of the hour in China.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
Believe me it wasn't your duck I was thinking of breaking in China Britney. Actually I'm a little surprised that a former Williams driver comes out effectively saying that wins for guys like Maldonaldo ruins the sport.
wibbah   Mark Webber
I'm totally flamin' stoked for the blokes and sheilas at Williams Michael. Frank is a top Pom, it's a shame my time in the team was crap.
Williams   Frank Williams
One podium in two seasons, the disappointment was mutual Mark. Anyway, after ending our 8 year wait, the second best thing about last Sunday was that Pastor proved he wasn't just some wanker with money.
nico   Nico Rosberg
As another ex-employee I was delighted to see you win Frank, and I can understand how you feel given I myself recently ended Mercedes' 57 year win drought.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
If you mention China once more Britney I'll asphixiate you with the first canister of your hairspray that comes to hand.
bestofbritish   Jenson Button
Ooh Michael, this hairspray queen is hoping to be the first one to come to hand. Asphixiation is optional, but I'll guarantee you a firm hold if you squirt my nozzle.
