Moss believes F1 is less fun without risking life and limb
Legendary driver Sir Stirling Moss has bemoaned the fact that Formula One has become so centred on safety, claiming that is has fundamentally altered the sport. "The concept has changed, that's a shame, because we had fun risking life and limb and that's gone now, really... In my opinion, if you don't want to take risks, play tennis."

Far be it from me to criticise a... oops... zero-time world champion, but spare us the 50-year-out-of-date opinions.

Tallyho chaps. I do say, I rather prefer that we raced like gentlemen and dressed like gentlemen, spiffing polo-shirts, fine Italian leather driving gloves, and maybe a scarf if one felt a chill in the air.

I think I'll stick to my fire-proof racing overalls thanks Stirling. Mrs. Schumacher would prefer that I don't come home with skin from my left arse-cheek grafted to my nose.

Balderdash Michael, one can not present oneself in such hideous attire when one is busy chasing crumpet after the race. I say old chum, one can't be doing with losing to a lady. About time you got the better of that tasty teammate of yours wouldn't you say, Nicola is it not?

Oh you mean Britney, maybe all that hairspray confused you too but apparently my teammate is a man, although we may subject him to the Olympic gender tests to make sure. He's hardly in the mould of the great Silver Arrow drivers of the past.

Actually Michael, having learned from your invaluable teaching it was I who ended Mercedes win drought and brought the first victory for a Silver Arrow since the days of Sir Stirling.

Can it Britney, why don't you and Stirling go add up all the world titles you have. To use a tennis analogy, Love all.

Actually Michael, perhaps we should tell Moss that far from a risk-free activity there is one F1 driver who had his career effectively ended by a tennis incident.

I did wented and played the tennis dude, made gone wide on the court-side and done badded my shoulder, total bummer.

Good grief young man, I haven't the foggiest notion what it is you are talking about. Get some elocution lessons in the Queen's English like a good fellow.

It is the view of the McLaren corporation that Juan's injury may have been complicated by the fact that sources tell us he hurt his shoulder while endeavouring to play tennis on a quad-bike.

I didded break my f**king shoulder with the f**king tennis thing, f**king McLaren be done worser than f**king Williams.

Pull the other one burger-boy, judging by your waistline the only time you ever saw a tennis court was on your Wii.

I'd like to say if I may that I think it is a disgrace that former drivers of the stature of the legendary Stirling Moss can spout about bringing back danger to F1 when the concept of the sport is to be the fastest, not to get hurt, especially given the magnificent progress in safety. When will Ferrari do the right thing and hire Mark Webber? Finally, I'd like to add if I may that I think we need to get the risk factor back in F1 to appeal to the fans who are bored with the ultra-safe run-off areas, and we need to get more high-profile ex-drivers to support the cause, because with all due respect Stirling isn't even a World Champion.

Interesting points as ever Eddie. By the way guys, I won't be with you for Hockenheim because of the Olympics but it's not important, we're not even showing the race live. Remember you can still tweet me, remember me guys.

For God's sake David, Jake is acting as an anchor for the Olympics, not competing, just like you do for the F1 races.

I couldn't compete in F1 Martin, it's way too fast, I think I could run in the Olympics though, I saw that video with all the guys running really slowly on the beach.

Jesus, you won 13 F1 races David. You must be thinking of the slow-motion scenes in Chariots of Fire, it's actually about real athletes who competed 88 years ago.
DC
David Coulthard
Well I could definitely run in slow-motion faster than them Martin, and I don't think it was 88 years ago, I saw it on telly last month.
