Barrichello: Williams should have at least double the points

Rubens Barrichello has said Williams should have scored twice as many points this season, and it's down to "the inexperience of the drivers - who are fast, but don't know how to get the chances that the equipment they have provides them." Pastor Maldonado responded: "He was in the team for two years and it was even worse... We had bad luck, not only with problems with the car but with the stewards."

Hmm... very original Barrichello - I see you're pulling out the old experience card again, seemingly the only card left in the deck.

I made it very clear in the interview Michael that I'm not referring to myself, the most experienced F1 driver ever, I'm just suggesting that what Williams really need is an experienced driver with lots of experience and many Grands Prix behind him, just like I have.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
In that case I assume you also weren't referring to yourself when you mentioned drivers who are fast, and certainly not those who make the most of the equipment at their disposal.
rubens   Rubens Barrichello
You can't bring up last year again Michael, that Williams car had no potential, I was just building it up in preparation for this year.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
I was thinking more about 5 years at Ferrari in a championship winning car - I believe if you had brought out the potential of that car you might have scored not only almost double the number of points, but 5 times the wins, 4 times the poles and infinity times the championships.
rubens   Rubens Barrichello
That's so unfair Michael, everybody knows you had all the advantages at Ferrari and I gave you half my wins anyway.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
Half your wins could have been missed as a statistical anomaly Barrichello. But let's talk about Brawn '09 instead then, I believe there was a fair bit of potential in that car, what with it gifting Button 6 wins and a championship.
rubens   Rubens Barrichello
You're so nasty Michael, I bet you came out of retirement just to take that away car from me.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
I thought the whole team was a bit wasted on you Rubens, especially when I managed to equal your points tally in the first year of my retirement even though I never sat my arse in a car all year. Read: nul points.
rubens   Rubens Barrichello
It's not my fault it was first come first served at stupid Honda and stupid Brawn. Jenson always signed his contract first, it was so unfair.
bestofbritish   Jenson Button
Ooh Rubinho, why don't we retire to my motorhome and extract each other's potential? Doubling is optional, but the early bird is guaranteed to catch this worm.
fernando   Fernando Alonso
Nice response from McDonalds I have to say - bad luck, problems with the car and problems with the stewards - a water-tight excuse if I ever heard one.
Pastor   Pastor Maldonado
Maybe the mechanics can fix the problems with the car, and President Chavez is re-elected now, so he can fix the problems with the stewards.
fernando   Fernando Alonso
I'm not sure your problems with the stewards are coming from the stewards' side McDonalds.
Williams   Frank Williams
Christ, I had almost started to believe we were on a bloody comeback this year. If only that bloody Maldonado could keep the car on the track and stop the messing.
Pastor   Pastor Maldonado
That's what I was doing boss, you said keep the car on the track, sometimes I need to use other people's cars to keep my car on the track.
fernando   Fernando Alonso
To be fair, he's bringing out the hidden potential of the car Frank, as a battering ram. Maybe the FIA safety lads could pay you a subsidy for all the good work.
Ambrosia   Jerome d'Ambrosio
What's a battering ram Fernando, is that some kind of new FIA safety test?
fernando   Fernando Alonso
Spot on as usual Ambrosia. It's to test driver reactions, they smear batter all over a pissed-off ram's horns and you've to see how long you can hang on to him without getting impaled. You should probably get practicing at home before next season.
